Primary Accountabilities:
A Parts Specialist at Hoyt's Trailer Center is responsible for all aspects of the parts sales process from the front retail counter to responding to needs for the service department. This position includes conducting inventory counts, pricing, ordering, and maintaining stock parts. The ideal candidate will possess strong attention to detail and organizational skills, the ability to make timely decisions, excellent customer service skills, and the ability to work efficiently with other team members.
Field all parts requests at the sales counter, including call-in, walk-in, and service department requests.
- Conduct inventory counts and maintain parts organization
- Consult with technicians to identify and source all items needed for repairs performed by Hoyt's
- Work with vendors to ensure timely delivery and receipt of correct parts
- Communicate with customers and provide accurate information regarding special-order parts
- Maintain detailed records of all parts ordered to ensure compliance with company guidelines
- Research new product lines and make recommendations to Parts Manager
Required Qualifications
- Valid Driver's License
- High School Diploma or GED Certificate
- 1 year of experience in a relevant field (automotive, manufacturing, transportation)
- 2 years of truck or trailer parts experience, preferred
- Ability to work in fast paced and loud environments
- Microsoft Office proficiency, preferred
- Skills to be successful: attention to detail, follow-through, time management, and problem solving.
Physical Demands:
- Ability to stand, lift, carry, push, pull, balance, stoop, reach, handle, talk, hear, see, grasp, move head and neck and movement across mid-line.
- Ability to lift/carry up to fifty (50) pounds.
- Finger dexterity, manual dexterity, alertness, precision, motor coordination, auditory discrimination and tactile discrimination.
Work Environment:
- Inside/indoor office environment which provides protection from weather condition, but not necessarily temperature changes.
- Shop floor and outdoor environments may be necessary for communication with the team and customers.
- Noise level is usually moderate to loud.
