Description
The Data Engineer modernizes and scales our data infrastructure by architecting robust pipelines that bridge legacy on-premises systems with modern cloud environments. This role is responsible for the end-to-end implementation of the client’s data mart and customer analytics platform, ensuring seamless integration between Microsoft SQL Server and Google Cloud Platform (GCP). You will serve as a technical linchpin, turning raw data into a strategic asset through high-performance architecture and cloud-native modernization.
Core Responsibilities
- Architect & Deploy Solutions : Design scalable technical architectures for data marts. Define and implement critical components including data maps, transformation logic, and aggregation strategies.
- Engineer ETL / ELT Pipelines : Build and maintain high-volume data pipelines using the language of your choice (Python, C#, Java, etc.) and BigQuery.
- Drive Cloud Modernization : Lead migration initiatives from legacy on-premises environments to Google Cloud Platform (GCP), ensuring data harmony across hybrid infrastructures.
- Optimize Data Performance : Develop and tune data warehousing solutions to ensure maximum efficiency, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.
- Collaborate Strategically : Partner with Data Architects and Analysts to translate high-level business requirements into technical specifications that align with organizational goals.
- Establish Data Governance : Enforce rigorous data quality standards and maintain comprehensive documentation to ensure transparency and system maintainability.
Requirements
Technical Skills & Experience
Experience : 3+ years in data engineering, data warehousing, and business intelligence.Language Mastery : Advanced proficiency in T-SQL and either Python, C# or Java.Modern Data Stack : Expert-level experience with Google BigQuery and cloud services (GCP, AWS, Azure, etc.).Cloud Expertise : Proven proficiency in GCP services (BigQuery, Cloud Storage) and orchestration tools like Google Cloud Composer.Modeling : Deep understanding of dimensional modeling, ETL / ELT best practices, and hybrid data integration.Professional Abilities
Strategic Execution : Ability to translate complex business needs into technical roadmaps and specific requirements..Agility : Proven success in high-paced environments, managing shifting priorities and ambiguous requirements with poise.Communication : Exceptional ability to articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and negotiate project scopes.Ability to adhere to the company's hybrid work policy. This position requires a minimum of three days per week in one of our offices for employees residing within a 30-mile radius of the following locations : San Antonio, TX (HQ), Manhattan, NY, Hauppauge, NY, Boston, MA, or Pompano Beach, FL.Education

The estimated salary range for this role is $15,080 - $100,000. At Stirista, we provide a good faith estimate of the pay range for this position. The final salary offer for this position will be uniquely determined by the combination of candidate's work location, specialized skills and seniority, and a review of internal salary benchmarks to ensure fair and competitive pay.
