Job Title: STEM Educator
General Responsibilities: Under the guidance of the Director of Educational Development, you will plan and lead engaging STEM learning sessions that inspire students and foster collaboration.
Major Duties:
- Regularly meet with the Director of Educational Development to discuss and refine curriculum.
- Plan and facilitate interactive learning sessions for students.
- Guide students in developing essential computer science, coding, and digital arts skills.
- Maintain open lines of communication with the Director.
- Model positive academic and social behaviors for students.
- Perform additional duties as assigned to support student learning.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Experience working with a diverse student population, encompassing various ethnic backgrounds and skill levels.
- Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
- Exhibit responsibility, a commitment to student success, discretion, and adaptability.
- Proficient in instructing coding languages such as Scratch, Blockly, Swift, and Python.
- Experience teaching robotics with coding applications.
- Skilled in digital video editing and guiding students in creating engaging promotional videos.
- Able to collect and analyze instructional data to inform future teaching strategies.
- Demonstrate independent critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
- Capable of tailoring instruction to meet the varying needs of students based on their interests and skill levels.
Qualifications: A bachelor's degree is required, along with teaching or tutoring experience and a robust background in computer science or coding.
