Provides surgical technology to direct and indirect care and service. Assist surgeon, perform operative / invasive procedures. Serves as the resource to other technologists, trains new technologists and functions as an informal lead technologist role as needed. Mentoring and utilizing the additional education gained through certification will be used to assist peers, perform more efficiently and raise performance.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

Preparation for surgeon specific operative / invasive procedure that's timely accurate, effective and efficient.

• Ensures instruments, equipment and suture are appropriate, complete and functional.
• Sets up sterile field and is scrubbed prior to induction.
• Sets up case so that another can step in back table and mayo organized.
• Has appropriate "have available" items.
• Uses resources wisely, avoids unnecessary opening.
• Motions are fluid and not redundant.
• Sets up time for a variety of case types is within acceptable range.
• Aware of and prepares for case needs, i.e. two mayos.
• Collaborates with surgeon prior to case and adjusts as necessary
• Precepts surg techs and RNs to prepare for surgeon specific procedures.

Scrubs on simple to complex procedures for a variety of specialties.

Plans, anticipates and provides for expected and unexpected intraop events.

Communicates and collaborates with others.

Compensation and Benefits

The compensation range for this position is $25.36per hour - $42.35per hour. This represents a good faith minimum and maximum range for the role at the time of posting by Carle Health. The actual compensation offered a candidate will be dependent on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate's experience, qualifications, location, training, licenses, shifts worked and compensation model.
