COTA - Weekend

Position Overview :

We are currently seeking dedicated and empathetic Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants (COTAs) to join our network of healthcare professionals. As a COTA contracted through our staffing agency, you will have the opportunity to work in various healthcare settings, including hospitals, clinics, rehabilitation centers, skilled nursing facilities, and home health agencies. This flexible role offers the freedom to choose assignments based on your availability and preferences.

Responsibilities :

Work under the supervision of licensed Occupational Therapists (OTs) to implement individualized treatment plans for patients with physical, developmental, or emotional challenges.

ssist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and feeding, to improve their independence and functional abilities.

Provide therapeutic interventions and activities to address patients' deficits and help them achieve their treatment goals, such as therapeutic exercises, manual therapy techniques, and adaptive equipment training.

Facilitate therapeutic activities to improve patients' motor skills, coordination, balance, and sensory integration, as well as cognitive and perceptual abilities.

Educate patients and their families about their condition, treatment plan, home exercise program, and strategies for maximizing independence and safety in daily activities.

Document patients' progress, responses to treatment, and discharge recommendations accurately and in accordance with regulatory standards and organizational policies.

Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams, including physicians, nurses, physical therapists, speech therapists, and social workers, to ensure coordinated and comprehensive patient care.

Qualifications :

Completion of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program.

Current and valid certification as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA).

Minimum of one year of clinical experience as a COTA in a relevant healthcare setting preferred.

Strong clinical assessment, treatment planning, and therapeutic intervention skills.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to establish rapport and build therapeutic relationships with patients and colleagues.
