The Role

General Motors is seeking applications for highly motivated and qualified individuals for the position of Scientist. This is a unique opportunity to join a multi-disciplinary team of experienced individuals who will drive the design, development, and deployment of advanced statistical and mathematical solutions running the gamut across the technological spectrum. The team is responsible both for analytics strategy and project-based solutions, focusing on the company’s most critical business areas.

As a Scientist, you will be responsible for working on a team seeking to solve GM's most pressing challenges across the enterprise using AI / ML and other analytical techniques. You will be responsible for the entire data science lifecycle process across multiple product workstreams, from initial investigation, to proof-of-concept development, to productionization and deployment, to final enhancement, hardening and maintenance.

What You’ll Do

• Develop predictive and prescriptive models using machine-learning algorithms, optimization and AI solutions.
• Analyze large amounts of diverse information to discover trends and patterns that drive business decisions.
• Develop UI applications to deliver insights to business clients.
• Undertake preprocessing of structured and unstructured data.
• Monitor and sustain model effectiveness.
• Present complex information using data visualization techniques.
• Create repeatable and scalable code bases and processes for improving development / execution efficiency.

This role is categorized as hybrid. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to Austin, TX or Warren, MI three times per week, at minimum.

This job is not eligible for relocation benefits. Any relocation costs would be the responsibility of the selected candidate.
