Export Compliance Specialist
The Export Compliance Specialist is responsible for ensuring adherence to U.S. export control regulations across the Communications Systems (CS) segment. This role conducts detailed export jurisdiction and classification reviews, supports licensing processes, and provides guidance to internal and external stakeholders to ensure compliance with ITAR, EAR, and U.S. Customs requirements. The ideal candidate will bring strong regulatory knowledge, meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities :
- Conduct ITAR and EAR export jurisdiction and classification reviews of hardware, software, and technical data.
- Determine and document export and customs classifications (HTS and Schedule B).
- Provide export classifications to support licensing and agreement applications.
- Review and approve technical data transfers to international third parties.
- Review and approve information intended for the public domain to ensure compliance.
- Implement trade compliance policies in accordance with U.S. export regulations.
- Participate in the planning and execution of Trade Compliance audits.
- Develop and deliver compliance training programs.
- Identify and recommend process improvements to enhance compliance efficiency.
- Support the Manager, Technical Trade Compliance, and collaborate with a team of 10+ professionals across the CS segment.
Required Qualifications :
U.S. Citizenship is required.Bachelors degree and a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience, or an Associates degree with 6 years of related experience, or a Graduate degree with 02 years of experience. 8+ years of directly related experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.Demonstrated expertise in ITAR, EAR, and Customs regulations.Strong organizational and prioritization skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines.Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in documentation.Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fully remote environment.Preferred Qualifications :
Experience reviewing and approving export-controlled technical data and public-domain materials.Proven ability to identify process improvements within compliance operations.Strong communication and analytical skills with a proactive, solution-oriented mindset.Work Environment :
Fully Remote (U.S.-based) role.Standard schedule : 8 : 00 a.m. 5 : 00 p.m. EST, with some flexibility.Collaborative virtual team of 10+ compliance professionals.
