The U.S. Border Patrol (USBP), within the U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), is hiring immediately for full-time, entry-level Law Enforcement Officer (LEO) positions.

Salary and Benefits

Annual Base Salary for newly appointed BPEOs varies by grade level, as follows :

You will be eligible for promotion to the next higher grade level (without reapplying) after successfully completing 52 weeks in each grade level.

BPEOs are entitled to a range of federal employment benefits, including health, dental, and various insurance plans, a generous leave program, and the opportunity to participate in the Thrift Savings Plan, a retirement plan similar to a traditional ROTH 401(k).

  • Recruitment Incentive
  • Newly appointed BPEOs may be eligible for up to a $20,000 incentive. The first $10,000 will be paid upon successful completion of the Border Patrol Academy, with the remaining $10,000 awarded for accepting a prioritized location.
  • Retention Incentive
  • Newly appointed BPEOs may also qualify for up to $40,000 in additional incentives distributed over their first four years.
