This PT will be working at Orlando Health Lake Mary Outpatient Rehabilitation Services in Longwood, FL

Address : 521 W State Road 434 Ste 204, Longwood, FL 32750

Orlando Health Lake Mary Hospital is a new 124-bed acute-care hospital - with room to grow to 240 beds, located in Seminole County, Florida. The facility offers a full complement of services, including inpatient & outpatient rehabilitation services, cardiovascular care, including 3 cath labs, emergency care, general surgery, orthopedics, and obstetrics, childbirth, postpartum care, and a future NICU.

    ABOUT OUR IP & OP REHAB DEPARTMENT :

  • We offer rehabilitation services serving a full spectrum of short-term and long-term rehabilitation needs - from hip fracture, joint replacement and sports medicine programs to stroke, traumatic brain injury cardiac surgery and oncology / lymphedema rehabilitation.
  • Our programs encompass both inpatient and outpatient care
  • The inpatient Acute Care Therapy offers unit-based specialized therapists for Oncology / Lymphedema, Neurological Conditions, Stroke, Orthopedics, Limb Loss, Multiple Traumas, and more!
  • Outpatient services are treated at our outpatient clinic located in Longwood, FL

    • Position Summary :

  • Works with patients who have impairments, limitations, disabilities, or changes in physical function and health status resulting from

    • injury, disease or other causes. The Physical Therapist role includes examination, evaluation, diagnosis, prognosis and interventions

    toward achieving the highest functional outcomes for each patient or client.

    Responsibilities

    Essential Functions

  • Evaluates patients, gathering data from the patient, the physician, interdisciplinary team meetings if available, family and

    • significant other persons and data sources.

  • Develops treatment plans which integrate with the continuum of care and have specific goals and objectives and treats accordingly.
  • Demonstrates competency in the use, care and maintenance of profession specific equipment, observing safety precautions and providing verbal explanations of the equipment and its purpose.
  • Demonstrates knowledge and skills necessary to treat and provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served on the assigned caseload.
  • Re-evaluates and modifies treatment plan and goals when appropriate.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span.
  • Assess data reflective of the patient's status and interprets the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to his or her age-specific needs.
  • Provides care as described in the unit's / area's / department's policies and procedures.
  • Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served on his or her

    • practicing location (s).Recognizes and communicates when the patient has received optimal benefit from physical therapy.

  • Adheres to State Practice Act and Standards of Practice.
  • Ensures complete documentation and accurate billing.
  • Provides patient / family education as indicated.
  • Maintains reasonably regular, punctual attendance consistent with Orlando Health policies, the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state

    • and local standards.

  • Maintains compliance with all Orlando Health policies and procedures

    • Qualifications

    Education / Training

  • Bachelor's degree or higher from an approved program in physical therapy.

    • Licensure / Certification

  • Current Physical Therapist license in the State of Florida-renewed every two years.
  • Must maintain CPR certification. Continuing Education as required by State Practice Act.

    • Experience

  • Newly licensed PT's and tenured PT's welcome to apply!
