Position Summary
Wakefield Asset Management is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Execution Trader to join our investment team. This role involves executing trades across multiple broker-dealers and platforms, managing various asset classes and product types, and ensuring all trading activities align with our fiduciary standards. The ideal candidate is a collaborative team player with a robust understanding of capital markets and a passion for investment management.
Key Responsibilities
Trading & Portfolio Management
- Execute portfolio changes across broker-dealers and platforms per investment team instructions.
- Monitor and maintain model portfolios in trade order and portfolio management systems.
- Ensure timely and accurate trade lifecycle management : order generation, compliance, execution, allocation, reconciliation, and settlement.
- Conduct best execution analysis and present findings quarterly.
- Track portfolio positioning, risk, and performance attribution using investment software and spreadsheets.
- Manage client trade requests and resolve trade-related issues promptly.
Operational & Team Support
Attend weekly investment meetings and stay informed on market trends and macroeconomic developments.Maintain effective communication with internal teams (investment, operations, distribution) and external partners (broker-dealers, clients, etc.).Support the investment team with ad-hoc financial analysis and special projects.Reporting & Marketing
Assist in preparing RFPs, RFIs, DDQs, and investment committee materials.Collaborate with marketing and business development team.Help gather and maintain performance data for internal and external reporting.Develop and update trading policies and procedures.Qualifications
Education & Experience
minimum of 3 years in the investment industry, 5 years of experience preferredtrading experience strongly preferredCFA or other credentials preferredSkills & Attributes
Ability to work independently under pressure with high attention to detail.Excellent communication, analytical, and critical thinking skills.Strong interest in investments and capital markets.Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel (advanced skills required).Experience with Tamarac, Morningstar Direct, and Bloomberg is a plus.Strong financial modeling and quantitative analysis skills.Application Instructions
