Job Details

Responsibilities :

1. Set up and operate various types of press machines to produce precision metal stampings.

2. Interpret blueprints, sketches, and engineering specifications to determine machine setup, production methods, and sequence of operations.

3. Select, position, and secure dies, punches, cutters, and blocks using micrometers, verniers, height gauges, and other precision measuring devices.

4. Monitor machines during production runs to ensure they are operating safely and efficiently, and to detect malfunctions.

5. Perform routine machine maintenance such as cleaning, lubricating, and adjusting parts.

6. Inspect finished products for conformance to specifications using precision measuring instruments.

7. Collaborate with engineers and other personnel to implement operating procedures, resolve system malfunctions, and provide technical information.

8. Recommend measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product.

9. Train and guide lower-level operators and apprentices to improve their skills and productivity.

Qualifications :

1. High school diploma or equivalent

2. Experience as a Press Room Operator or similar role in the manufacturing industry.

3. Proven experience with dies and blueprints

4. Strong understanding of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.

5. Excellent troubleshooting skills and the ability to solve complex technical issues.

6. High level of mechanical aptitude and manual dexterity.

7. Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and blueprints.

8. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team.

9. Ability to stand for long periods and lift heavy objects.
