Description

An employee in this class is responsible for the specialized care of individuals who are mentally retarded. Work involves providing individualized care under professional direction, activities of daily living, including proper maintenance of living units, and guiding individuals in individualized program plans and leisure activities.

Work is performed in accordance with appropriate procedures under the close supervision of a higher-level supervisor, who reviews results through daily observation of activities in progress, individuals’ responsiveness, inspection of quarters, reports, and periodic conferences. Staff will be required to follow a designated shift routine as outlined by the supervisor.

We are looking for caring, compassionate, and energetic DSPs to provide supportive living to individuals in assisting them in daily living and personal care services.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with day to day task
  • Transport and accompany individuals to doctors appoints or community outings.
  • Administer simple prescribed medications (if certified)
  • Assist individuals with personal care.
  • Log individuals provided services
  • Provide companionship and basic emotional or psychological support
  • As an Independent Contractor, there are no benefits or Paid Time Off provided. The compensation will be deposited directly into your account
