Trade Accountant
We are looking for an Accountant to join our Trade team at the Corporate office in Greeley, CO. The Trade Accountant position reports to the Business Controller. This is a challenging opportunity that requires strong accounting knowledge, good communication and time management skills. The ideal candidate will have a hands-on approach and problem-solving mindset.
Responsibilities :
- Support all accounting transactions, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
- Handle monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closings in accordance with USGAAP.
- Prepare and analyze managerial profit and loss (P&L) statements across different business units.
- Explain variances to budget and prior year figures, identifying and addressing gaps across business units.
- Create analyses and scenarios to support business decisions by managing production and sales key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Streamline, automate, and implement controls for processes under your oversight, enhancing efficiency and accuracy.
- Collaborate with IT and business units to implement business intelligence (BI) dashboards (e.g., Qlik Sense, BOBJ reports).
- Work with the Accounts Receivable (AR) corporate team to improve cash flow and reduce the percentage of past-due accounts.
- Track and manage inventory levels across business units to ensure optimal stock levels.
- Monitor and manage claims that negatively impact P&Ls, categorizing by reason and owner.
- Price products using formula pricing methodology and handle price approval in the ECS system.
- Consistently deliver timely and accurate management reports and information as needed.
- Serve as a skilled backup for the Controller.
- Assist the Controller with annual budget preparation.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications :
Bachelor's degree required, Accounting, Business Administration, or Economics preferred. Internal experience may be substituted for education.0-2 years of relevant accounting experience preferred.Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), financial statement structure, and general ledger accounts.General knowledge of accounts payable and receivable processes.Ability to work independently on assigned tasks with minimal supervision.Advanced Excel skills.High level of accuracy and attention to detail.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Working knowledge of SAP preferred.Familiarity with Business Intelligence (BI) tools and Business Planning and Consolidation (BPC) is a plus.Experience in a fast-paced environment requiring strong time-management skills and the ability to multitask.Well-organized, goal-oriented, self-motivated, independent worker, and quick to learn new processes.Can perform the functions of the job with or without a reasonable accommodationThe applicant who fills this position will be eligible for the following compensation and benefits :
