Teacher of the Deaf & Hard of Hearing (DHH) | K–12 | 2025–2026 Academic Year
We are seeking a committed and inclusive-minded Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing to support K–12 students throughout the remainder of the school year. This school-based role is well suited for an educator who values accessibility, differentiated instruction, and empowering students with hearing differences to reach their full potential.
In this position, you will deliver individualized instruction and communication supports designed to meet each student’s unique learning profile. You’ll collaborate closely with classroom teachers, service providers, and families to ensure students can fully access curriculum and participate meaningfully in their school communities. Your work will foster communication growth, academic achievement, and self-confidence.
Role Highlights:
- Offer guidance and consultation to staff serving DHH students.
- Monitor student progress and adjust instructional strategies as needed.
- Develop, implement, and oversee IEPs in collaboration with school teams.
- Adapt curriculum and instructional materials to support access and engagement.
- Partner with families and educators to support communication and learning goals.
- Provide direct instruction using appropriate communication approaches and accommodations.
Requirements
- Fluency in American Sign Language (ASL) strongly preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Deaf Education or a related discipline.
- Strong collaboration, communication, and instructional planning skills.
- Valid Georgia Professional Educator License with Deaf and Hard of Hearing endorsement.
