Roles And Responsibilities
Developing Medical and Scientific Expertise
Develop and maintain the highest scientific and medical expertise in TED, Graves' Disease, and future pipeline indications.
Be acknowledged internally and externally as an expert.
Partner with Medical Affairs, HEOR, Patient Advocacy, and Global Commercial Planning and Readiness to create a thorough internal understanding of thyroid eye disease and other pipeline opportunities.
Identify potential high‑impact medical research projects and publication opportunities in line with argenx’s areas of interest.
Attend relevant local, national, and international meetings and congresses to gather intelligence, develop productive collaborations, and share insights within argenx.
HCP Engagement
Identify, recommend, and support site principal investigators for ongoing and planned TED, Graves' Disease, and pipeline clinical trials.
Promote clinical trial engagement through scientific exchange and presentations.
Ensure timely and informative scientific / medical exchanges and education for the healthcare community on disease awareness, diagnostics, treatment, and adherence that accurately reflect scientific data and research objectives.
Respond to questions from the healthcare community with integrity, compliance, and adherence to all legal, regulatory, and argenx guidelines.
Tailor engagement strategies by recognizing and accommodating stakeholder archetypes (e.g., academic vs community) and their unique informational needs.
KOL Engagement
Develop and maintain relationships with healthcare Key Opinion Leaders within TED, Graves' Disease, and relevant pipeline indications to collaborate on research projects, advisory boards, and peer‑to‑peer educational initiatives.
Engage in development activities by collaborating with PIs and study sites to facilitate participation in clinical trials and provide guidance on study protocols and patient recruitment.
Collaborate with KOLs on evidence generation appropriately, including sponsored, translational, and outcomes research within TED, Graves' Disease, and relevant pipeline indications.
Cross‑Functional Collaboration
Ensure close working relationships with cross‑functional field partners, Global Commercial Planning and Readiness, and Clinical Development / Operations to ensure launch readiness.
Support cross‑functional teams to ensure operations are patient‑focused, including rapidly responding to internal and external requests to discuss specific situations and challenges and provide medical affairs support to all stakeholders.
Skills and Competencies
Strong preference for TED and / or Graves' Disease experience. Candidates must possess a portfolio‑oriented mindset and strong aptitude for effectively working with cross‑functional teams.
Scientific and customer‑centric mindset with a proven track record of delivering results that meet or exceed targeted objectives.
Demonstrated ability to build relationships and collaborate productively with external stakeholders and strong preference within TED and Graves' Disease.
Effective collaborator on cross‑functional teams with diverse technical expertise and backgrounds.
Quickly understand complex disease areas, treatments, and clinical development plans.
Thorough understanding of clinical trial phases and execution.
Proactive problem‑solving and ability to translate territory / organizational needs into action.
Operate with significant autonomy to assess priorities and customize decisions in real time.
Flexible to travel within region, USA, and globally based on business needs.
Education, Experience and Qualifications
Scientific, healthcare, or medical degree (PharmD, PhD, MD, DO).
3+ years of Medical Science Liaison experience in the biopharmaceutical industry with strong preference for previous experience within TED and Graves' Disease sub‑specialists.
Strong preference for candidates who reside in California and Washington state.
Therapeutic area experience in TED and Graves' Disease is strongly preferred. Candidates with extensive experience with endocrinologists or other ophthalmological disease areas will be considered.
Strong clinical, scientific, and healthcare business acumen.
Strong knowledge of the US healthcare landscape, including hospital systems and healthcare professionals.
Strong understanding of compliance, legal, and regulatory landscape related to interactions with healthcare professionals.
Fluency in translating medical market research and data‑driven insights into actionable strategic initiatives.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and VEEVA.
For applicants in the United States : The annual base salary hiring range for this position is $184,000.00 – $276,000.00 USD. This range reflects our good faith estimate at the time of posting. Individual compensation is determined using objective, inclusive, and job‑related criteria such as relevant experience, skills, and demonstrated competencies and internal equity. Because market conditions evolve, pay ranges are reviewed regularly and may be adjusted to remain aligned with external benchmarks.
This job is eligible to participate in our short‑term and long‑term incentive programs, subject to the terms and conditions of those plans and applicable policies.
