Cardiology Physician Assistant

The role you ll contribute:

The Cardiology Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant functions as a member of the medical care management team for physician practice patients. Provides medical treatment under the supervision of the physicians for AdventHealth Medical Group. Conducts patient examinations and follow-ups, provides treatment plans, and counsels patients. May, in some cases, prescribe medication. This medical care will be provided within the framework of AdventHealth Medical Group and the hospital s medical staff department s policies and procedures.

• Assesses patient health by interviewing patients, performing physical examinations, and identifying medical and surgical conditions.
• Examine patients, take medical histories, maintain patient records, identify health risk factors, prescribe medications, make referrals and otherwise treat health conditions.
• Assists with in-office procedures with physician and or may perform minor procedures independently.
• Interpreting test results of patients.
• Provide post-procedural follow-up care in the outpatient practice setting.
• Will diagnose and treat in collaboration with the supervising Cardiologist adult cardiovascular patients in addition to a variety of chronic health conditions including but not limited to diabetes, hypertension, hyperlipidemia etc.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

• Master s degree in physician assistant studies or MSN degree

LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION OR REGISTRATION REQUIRED:

• State of Florida Registered Physician Assistant License or APRN
• Valid American Heart Association BLS, ACLS certification
• Continuing education required to maintain licensure
