SM: Medical Education (Full-Time, Day Shift) -

The Clinical Therapist-SM is responsible for providing consultation and referral services, contextually relevant short-term therapy and crisis intervention for students in the School of Medicine, residents, fellows, and faculty physicians. Is responsible for providing support to the School of Medicine in wellness screening and programming initiatives. Maintains records in accordance with industry standards. Performs other duties at request of the Director of the Office of Physician Vitality. Performs other duties as needed.
Master’s Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy, Social Work, or related field required. Minimum of eight years of experience in a clinical setting required. Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist or Licensed Clinical Social Worker required.
Observe and record observations. Knowledge of use of computer, printer, fax, phone. Essential Interpersonal Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills required. Professional telephone manner. Customer service oriented. Ability to effectively work with coworkers and other staff on Campus with a friendly and cooperative spirit. Team approach for all clinical cases. Essential Mental Abilities: Observe and record observations. Analyze and interpret observations. Make appropriate treatment plans based on analysis of observations. Complete follow up on treatment plans and recommendations. Ability to make independent clinical decisions as well as work in team atmosphere. Have good written and oral communication skills. Essential Sensory Abilities: Able to distinguish colors as necessary to the position; hear sufficiently for general conversation in person and on the telephone, and see sufficiently to read written documents necessary to the position.
