The VP Purchasing Department of the Support Services Division at Hawaiian Electric Company has one management vacancy available. The role is a professional supervisor. The job functions include supervising, planning, and directing the company's supply chain activities to maximize efficiency and minimize costs.

Essential functions include overseeing inventory replenishment activities, analyzing material and equipment requirements, managing procurement activities, supervising and leading assigned work groups, analyzing supply chain data, and maintaining SAP supply chain master data.

Basic qualifications include thorough knowledge of supply chain management principles, material handling policies, data mining, LEAN continuous improvement principles, personal computers and software applications, company policies, electric utility operations, budgeting, and applicable regulations. Skills include excellent communication, interpersonal, leadership, analytical, organizational, and flexibility.

Experience requirements include multiple years in supply chain management, preferably in the electric utility field, and several years of supervisory experience.
