General Purpose :
Th e Legal Assistant assists in-house legal professional in preparing, organizing, and managing various legal documents that impact the business including agency charges, lease agreements, contracts, subpoenas, and demands. Primary duties include document management of agency charges, litigation, and worker complaints / demands; organizing and managing lease correspondence and renewals; drafting legal correspondence; and assisting legal professionals in handling basic legal inquiries.
Essential Functions :
- Act as a liaison with business unit representatives and internal legal counsel.
- Maintain knowledge of the company's legal documents, systems, and operations.
- Organize, maintain, and supervise document collection and file management for litigation, real estate, regulatory compliance, and contracts.
- Implement and manage litigation holds.
- Manage real estate lease portfolio documentation.
- Draft legal correspondence.
- Review and respond to subpoenas.
- Manage submission of standard contracts and respond to contract-related inquiries from internal employees.
- Manage specialized state and federal business license applications, annual state renewals, and other corporate compliance matters.
Desired Skills & Experience :
2+ of relevant work experience.Prior experience with business, employment, real estate leasing / negotiations, and corporate issues in a multi-state environment preferred.Ability to work cross-functionally to proactively communicate and resolve issues with the highest sense of urgency and discretion.Excellent computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and ability to learn new systems.Strong verbal and written communication skills.Detailed oriented with the ability to prioritize responsibilities and work independently.Customer service-focused and a team player.Staffing industry experience a plus.What Elwood Staffing can offer you :
