As the Head of Engineering, you will be both a leader and a mentor, and own communication across all teams. This role reports directly to the CEO and partners closely with the Head of PMO, Head of Design, and other department leads. You will have full autonomy + ambiguity with your day-to-day, unmatched resources to develop yourself professionally, and the opportunity to bring some of the fastest growing tech companies in the world to new heights!/ppDetails of the role:/pulliType of Work: Full-time/liliLocation: Remote, San Diego based preferred/liliPay: $150k/yr + DOE/liliYears of experience: 8+ years preferred/li/ulpWhat youll be doing:/pulliLead, inspire, and influence to ensure the success of the team./liliPartner with the recruiting team to attract and retain high-quality and diverse talent./liliEstablish a great rapport with other department leaders (Project Management, Growth, Design and Customer Success)/liliProvide technical direction and ensure a balance between immediate impact and long-term architectural health./liliPartner with peer functions and organizations to deliver the training and enablement the team requires/liliCreate, document and implement engineering process that solves for scale/liliEnsure that the group remains execution focused and effective in a fast paced and sometimes ambiguous environment./liliDrive continuous systems improvement for managing, documenting, staffing, and reviewing engineering projects and services./liliDefine and evolve a technical strategy that aligns with Webstacks growth goals and client service models./liliOversee a team of internal developers and manage relationships with contract developers, including offshore talent./liliBuild scalable processes for onboarding, evaluating, and integrating contractors and third-party vendors./li/ulpWhat you bring to the table:/pulliExperience leading a distributed software engineering organization of multiple teams./liliStrong technical background that allows you to understand, advocate for and support your engineers and engineering leaders./liliExperience building strong partnerships with other job functions, like the Project Management, Marketing, Design, and Customer Success to keep teams collaborating smoothly and working together to improve the product./liliBachelors Degree in Computer Science or related technology field required; Masters degree preferred./liliAbility to handle a heavy workload with multiple projects and frequent interruptions./liliAbility to work in a changing, dynamic environment./li/ulpTools and Tech that you love:/pulliCore: JavaScript, React, Node.js/liliDeployment: Vercel, Gatsby, Netlify, Cloud platforms/liliLanguages: Ruby, Python (working knowledge)/li/ulpNice to Have:/pulliTypeScript/liliPrior agency experience/liliDeep UX understanding/liliSan Diego based/li/ulpThe worst parts of this job:/pulliStrategic hands-on leadership: Balancing big-picture technical direction with staying close to the work that powers our clients success./liliTough calls clear communication: Navigating shifting priorities, managing expectations, and delivering direct, transparent feedback.
