The typical nurse-to-patient ratio is 1 : 6 overnight. The unit serves adult patients with varying diagnoses. Common conditions treated include cholecystitis, appendicitis, diverticulitis, pneumonia, cellulitis, bowel obstruction, wounds, total joint replacements, bariatric surgery / colorectal surgery, and spine surgery. Nurses are required to wear navy blue scrubs. Support staff is available to assist with technical help as needed.
