Position Summary :
The Senior Companions Program Assistant will support the overall operation and growth of the Senior Companions Program by assisting with recruitment, coordination, and support of volunteer companions. This includes maintaining accurate program records, coordinating the matching of companions with individuals in need, processing participant stipends, and supporting transportation and logistical needs.
Key Responsibilities :
- Assist with the recruitment of eligible low-income individuals (ages 55+) to serve as Senior Companions.
- Match companions with socially isolated adults and individuals with disabilities through community and host site placements.
- Coordinate training, ongoing support, and recognition for Senior Companion volunteers.
- Maintain accurate records and data entry related to volunteer participation and stipend payments.
- Facilitate background checks and ensure timely reporting of volunteer activities.
- Support the enrollment of eligible residents in available program funding.
- Assist with referrals to additional social support services as needed.
Required Skills & Experience :
1-3 years of experience in :Accurate data entry and basic computer skills.
Respectful engagement with older adults and individuals with disabilities.Working with or supporting volunteers.Preferred Qualifications :
Bachelor's degree in Human Services or related field (may be waived with 5+ years of relevant experience).Experience as a caregiver (paid or unpaid).Knowledge of public health benefits such as Medicare and / or Medicaid.Work Environment :
This is a hybrid role requiring both remote work and in-person availability within Milwaukee County. Candidate must be a current resident of Wisconsin.
