Atwork Seattle Southwest is seeking an experienced Maintenance and Engineering Manager to lead all aspects of maintenance operations, equipment reliability, and facility management in a dynamic manufacturing environment.
This role is ideal for a hands-on leader who can manage both strategic planning and day-to-day maintenance execution. The right candidate will bring strong technical skills, a continuous improvement mindset, and proven leadership experience to support uptime, safety, and efficiency.
Core Responsibilities
Supervise the daily operations of the maintenance team across multiple shifts
Develop and manage preventive and predictive maintenance programs
Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and process-related equipment issues
Lead equipment installations and capital improvement projects
Oversee facility infrastructure and utility system maintenance
Ensure accurate technical documentation and facility layout updates
Collaborate with production teams to resolve quality and equipment concerns
Manage spare parts inventory, tooling, and maintenance supplies
Train, mentor, and evaluate maintenance team members
Enforce safety protocols and lead safety training initiatives
Partner with HR and EHS on compliance and safety programs
Provide technical support for new product and equipment introductions
Qualifications
5+ years of experience in maintenance or engineering roles in a manufacturing setting
Prior experience leading maintenance or technical teams
Strong troubleshooting skills mechanical, electrical, and process-related
Familiarity with plastic processing or extrusion (preferred but not required)
Proficient in CMMS software, Microsoft Office, or Google Workspace
CAD proficiency (AutoCAD or SolidWorks); able to interpret technical drawings
Bachelor s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field (preferred)
Equivalent hands-on experience may be considered in place of a degree
Physical and Work Environment Requirements
Regular time on the production floor; walking, climbing, and lifting (up to 50 lbs)
Exposure to high-temperature equipment, noise, and industrial chemicals
PPE required : safety glasses, gloves, hearing protection, steel-toe boots
Occasional availability outside standard hours for emergencies or projects
Balanced work split between floor presence and administrative planning
