Business Intelligence Developer
My client has a full time hybrid opening for a BI Developer. This role requires 4 days on site in Philly. Ideal candidate will have a strong data engineering and SQL background and the ability to build and maintain scalable data pipelines, ETL processes, and data models. You’ll work with SQL Server, SSIS, SSRS, SSAS, Python, and Tableau to support analytics and reporting across the organization. This role partners closely with teams across Finance, IT, Marketing, and Operations to deliver reliable data solutions and actionable insights.
Essential Job Functions
Design, develop, and maintain ETL processes using SSIS and Python, ensuring accuracy, reliability, and efficiency.
Develop, optimize, and maintain SQL Server queries, stored procedures, and scripts for large and complex datasets.
Collaborate with stakeholders to define data requirements, design data models, and deliver analytical solutions that support business decisions.
Support and enhance Tableau dashboards and SSRS reports, ensuring data consistency, clarity, and usability.
Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize workflows and data pipelines to ensure high performance and reliability.
Identify and implement opportunities to improve data quality, architecture, and BI processes.
Provide documentation, communicate project updates, and ensure alignment with BI leadership and business stakeholders.
Support teams with reporting, analysis, and day-to-day operational needs.
Leverage proprietary AI tools to enhance reporting accuracy, streamline workflows, and uncover insights.
Perform additional duties as assigned to support efficient department and organizational operations.
Requirements:
Hands-on experience with SSIS for ETL development and data ingestion.
Strong foundation in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, advanced formulas, and data modeling concepts.
Experience with Tableau for reporting and visualization (preferred).
Exposure to SSRS and SSAS (preferred).
Exposure to Python for data analysis, automation, or ETL support (preferred).
Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
Ability to interpret data, generate insights, and explain findings to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Team-oriented, proactive, adaptable, and eager to learn and grow technically and professionally.
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
3–5 years of experience in business intelligence, data engineering, or data development roles.
Familiarity with service-based industries and/or financial systems general ledger) is a plus.
Understanding of data warehousing concepts, including star and snowflake schema design, is a plus.
