Sign Language Interpreter.

The Sign Language Interpreter provides interpreting/transliterating for deaf and hard of hearing students. Provides interpreting/transliterating in the classroom, for meetings, registration, testing, tutoring, counseling, etc., for deaf and hard of hearing students;. Provides academic advising to deaf and hard of hearing students;. Confers and plans with students, teachers and other interpreters in preparation for assignments;. Assists in developing and presenting training programs and providing workshops for part-time interpreters, students, faculty and staff.

Must have and maintain a valid driver's license; maintain automobile insurance coverage; and have access to an automobile.

Physical Demands: Depending on the class or activity, the employee may be required to interpret outdoors. Depending on the class, the employee may need to provide their own PPE (personal protection equipment such as appropriate footwear and eyewear. If the class exceeds an hour and forty-five minutes, the interpreter will be provided a team interpreter.

****Flexible Schedule: Willingness to adjust schedules to meet student needs, which may include evenings or weekends.****

Work Environment:While performing the duties of this position, the employee will travel by automobile and be exposed to changing weather conditions.The employee will be required to drive to various instructional facilities.

The employee will be required to do intermittent computer trainings.

High school diploma or equivalent *and* Two (2) years related work experience
