Job Summary
Manages Supply Chain activities in Central Sterile Processing in a coordinated effort with the CSP management team. Facilitates the standardization of products and optimizes supply utilization efforts through effective collaboration with physicians, clinicians and CSP staff. In conjunction with Materials Resource Management and Central Sterile Processing Director develops implementation plans for various CSP supply chain initiatives to reduce supply and equipment expenditures, improve supply chain efficiencies, and eliminate waste. Assesses issues, identifies causes, creates options and thru coordinated effort with CSP management team implements changes for CSP supply chain improvement. Presents ideas effectively and tailors information to all levels of the organization. Recognizes strategic and tactical metrics, measures progress and leads activities related to achieving successful outcomes as identified by the management team. May participate in various system Value Analysis Committees to provide support, recommendations for product conversion and implementation strategies.
Uses system MMIS and ORIS data to determine and maintain appropriate inventory levels for supplies surgical materials. Coordinates inventory replenishment activities using MMIS and various mobile supply chain technologies. Audits daily transactions related to preparation of case carts, as well as product returns to inventory, and charges to various departments serviced by CSP, provides information to CSP Director for dissemination and related resulting action. Insures supply orders are received, properly stored, and MMIS system is accurate. Conducts inventory cycle counts, investigates variances, maintains supply bin locations and labels. Insures product dating is checked and excess inventory is reduced.
Works collaboratively with OR and CSP staff to insure accurate information is on preference lists and transmitted from the ORIS to the MMIS correctly. Participates in the periodic review and development of preference lists and makes suggestions regarding their content and the disposition of required supplies to the CSP Information Specialist for system changes. Investigates error messages and makes corrections in MMIS, as well as recommend corrections to the ORIS as appropriate.
Works with Corporate Purchasing and vendors to return excess inventory and obsolete items. Analyzes product usage, cost, lead time, and optimizes inventory levels and turns. Works with CSP Director regarding suggestions of inventory location.
May assist in development of department specific protocols for managing supplies including storage, contract compliance, and exception management.
