As a Photomask Metrology Engineer at Micron Technology, you will play a key role in ensuring the accuracy, precision, and stability of reticle metrology processes involved in the development and production of advanced memory technologies. You will monitor tool health and improve reticle CD, registration, phase measurement, and blank inspection. Collaboration across R&D and high-volume manufacturing will help advance Micron’s roadmap for next-generation photomask quality and capability.
Responsibilities
Monitor tool health, analyze trends, and respond to out‑of‑spec tool or process conditions.
Develop and implement new metrology and blank‑inspection processes to support Micron’s reticle roadmap.
Partner with equipment suppliers to evaluate, qualify, and enhance next‑generation metrology systems.
Identify improvement opportunities and lead projects to enhance process performance and measurement capability.
Ensure accuracy, repeatability, and consistency of metrology results by reducing sources of variation.
Provide expert analysis of tool and process capabilities and guide teams on optimal measurement techniques.
Collaborate with R&D and HVM groups to support their metrology needs, including recipe creation and data analysis.
Mentor and train manufacturing technicians and engineering peers on metrology standard methodologies.
Minimum Qualifications
2+ years of experience in a semiconductor or reticle manufacturing environment; metrology or photolithography experience preferred.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Fundamental understanding of measurement systems and statistical data analysis.
Bachelor’s degree or higher in Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, or related field.
Preferred Qualifications
Understanding of electron microscope physics and imaging behavior.
Experience with advanced reticle metrology systems (CD, registration, phase) and blank inspection tools.
Background supporting both R&D and high‑volume manufacturing environments.
