Role Description
The Senior Project Manager is accountable for the full lifecycle of assigned projects and is expected to deliver predictable results. This role leads planning, coordination and execution while ensuring safety, quality and financial performance. Responsibilities span leading teams, scheduling, estimating support, subcontractor buyout, contract administration, cost management, risk mitigation, field oversight and closeout. The Senior PM sets the tone for the project team and is directly responsible for driving outcomes.
Responsibilities
Project Planning
- Develop full project plans including scope, schedule, budget and procurement strategy
- Coordinate with estimating during preconstruction to ensure accurate scope and pricing
- Identify risks early and prepare mitigation plans
Execution and Oversight
Drive the project schedule and hold subcontractors accountable to commitmentsManage daily project activities and resolve issues before they become delaysEnsure materials, equipment and manpower are aligned with schedule needsMaintain strict cost control and track budget vs. actual performanceTeam and Stakeholder Management
Lead project meetings with owners, architects, engineers and subcontractorsCommunicate clearly with field teams and support them in executing work safely and efficientlyBuild strong relationships with clients and represent the company professionallyQuality and Safety
Enforce contract requirements, specifications and quality standardsConduct regular site walks and inspections to ensure complianceSupport and enforce the project’s safety plan and correct unsafe conditions immediatelyDocumentation and Reporting
Manage RFIs, submittals, change orders and meeting minutesMaintain accurate project logs and documentationProvide weekly cost and schedule updates to leadership and ownershipFinancial Management
Review and approve subcontractor pay applicationsForecast project costs and maintain profitability targetsIdentify and pursue opportunities for value engineering and cost savingsCloseout
Oversee punch list, commissioning, O&M documentation and final turnoverEnsure timely completion of all contract closeout requirementsRequired Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering or equivalent experience7 to 10 years of commercial construction experienceAbility to read and interpret construction documents and contractsClear communication and meeting leadership skillsSolid understanding of safety requirements and OSHA standardsPreferred Qualifications
Experience managing projects 10 to 50 millionStrong client relationship skillsExperience mentoring junior team membersAdvanced scheduling capabilityStrong negotiation skills for buyout and change ordersCertifications such as PMP, CCM or LEED AP
