Job Description

Job Title : Forensic Engineer

Forensic engineering is NOT a design position. Our work provides a technical reality check to insurance adjusters processing claims and litigation attorneys pleading or defending cases. These are engineering case studies. Forensic engineering requires research and analysis capabilities and the ability to clearly explain (written and verbally) our process and findings to a lay audience. The ability to see and understand a situation as a multi-disiplinary issue makes us sought after as a valuable resource. Cases often require knowledge that combines several (but not all) areas of technology including - but not limited to - contracts, construction process and assembly, building codes, accessibility, wind loads, drainage, law, water intrusion, thermodynamics, structural analysis and construction, etc.

I'm seeking a licensed Professional Engineer specializing in civil, structural, or architectural engineering. I do not expect the candidate to be knowledgeable in all the areas previously outlined. Unless they have practiced as a forensic engineer for several years, building personal capability and understanding takes time. But the rewards are great. The assignments are challenging and rarely repetitive.
