Quext - Chief/Lead Architect

Quext is revolutionizing the property technology space by writing software that boosts property value, simplifies the day-to-day, and keeps residents connected. We are looking for a passionate Chief Architect to drive our products forward and help deliver highly valuable, safe, and secure property technology to our customers. You will be a key member of our Engineering team and will be responsible for technical and architectural specifications, creating and maintaining code review guidelines, and coding prototypes and complex requirements. You will work closely with the product developers to mentor and provide feedback in accordance with Quext product standards. You will also work with your peers across other Quext departments as the technical product expert.

As the Chief Architect, you need to be intimately familiar with building applications and the corresponding backends to satisfy functional and technical business requirements. You will see out a project from conception to the final product, requiring good organizational skills and attention to detail. You will be a player/coach who leads the team but contributes to code and solutions.

What you will be doing:

• Evaluating and approving technical designs to ensure they fit product standards

• Defining technical and coding standards

• Defining and participating in code reviews

• Mentoring and educating developers

• Coding complex solutions and prototypes

• Defining and managing the product release process

• Designing and documenting application architecture

• Interacting with other teams as the platform technical expert

Responsibilities:

• Own platform technical standards

• Own platform coding standards

• Own product release process

• Own product architecture documentation

• Mentor and educate developers

• Evaluate and suggest new technologies and platforms for the product

• Code complex solutions and/or prototypes

• Build and support applications with an understanding of system integration, test planning, scripting, and troubleshooting

• Assess the health and performance of software applications and databases

• Work with other teams as the platform technical expert

Requirements

• 7+ years of developer experience full stack development.

• Excellent communicator in written and verbal form; able to lead and influence across multiple levels and multiple functions of an organization

• Proven track record of effectively interacting with senior management

• Proven track record of creating and managing strong product-driven standards

• Expert knowledge and experience with AWS.

• Experience working with Typescript, one or node.js web frameworks like expressjs, NestJS, one or more JavaScript frontend frameworks/libraries such as React, Angular, Vue, etc. (preferably Vue).

• Knowledge of one or more CSS preprocessors/JavaScript bundlers like SASS, Less, Webpack, Parcel, and Rollup.

• Experience developing RESTful web services and integrating with RESTful or other web services.

• Database design and management, including being up on the latest practices and associated versions –NoSQL/RDBMS.

• Proficiency with Git.

• Experience with Scrum or other Agile processes.

• Thorough understanding of user experience and design.

• Experience working with CI/CD automation.

• Robust problem-solving skills to perform root cause analysis on internal and external data and processes to answer specific business questions and identify opportunities for improvement.

• Strong project management and organizational skills.
