About The Position

Job Title : Registered Nurse

License : NC or Compact license required at the time of start

Must-Have : Ortho experience, IV start, telemetry

Description :

Cross posting after booking is not allowed.

Any call-offs or additional requests for time off could lead to cancellation.

Must have prior orthopedic experience.

No holiday requests for time off will be approved.

The unit accepts first-time travelers with Epic experience.

Local candidates are accepted with a rate difference.

Ratios are typically 5-6 patients per nurse but can flex to 7 : 1 in extreme cases.

Weekend shifts are required every other weekend.

If a nurse calls out on a weekend, they must make up that time on a weekend.

The average daily census is 37.

The patient population includes orthopedic, neuro spine, med-surg, and post-surgical patients.

Nurses must effectively manage pain for orthopedic and spine surgery patients.

This is a fast-paced unit requiring strong customer service skills.

Block scheduling options are available.

Candidates may be required to float to other medical-surgical units based on staffing needs.

All Covid patients are no longer cohorted; they are managed throughout the facility.

Candidates must pass EKG testing prior to starting in this specialty.

Candidates must work 2 out of 3 major holidays.

No time off will be allowed during the first week of the assignment.

Candidates must be comfortable floating with no restrictions.

Fatigue policy : Travelers cannot work more than 5 consecutive days or exceed 60 hours in a week.

Modules must be completed pre-start and annually.

References from two managers or supervisors within the last 12 months are highly preferred.
