Job Purpose
Working in a team of 4- 6 servicing professionals engaged in most aspects of commercial loan servicing, the Associate, Loan Administration, shares responsibility for NewPoint Real Estate Capital's compliance with investor guidelines, servicing agreements, loan documents and service level agreements. S / he works with the Director, Loan Administration, to optimize the use of technology, implement and conform to best practices and consistently achieve Key Performance Indicators.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Review loan and closing documents to establish new loans on the servicing system. Initiate monthly billing and generate welcome letters;
- Process incoming payments, reconcile discrepancies between amounts due and amounts received, review clearing accounts, and process daily wires;
- Update the servicing system with changes in loan structure, such as assumptions, modifications, or changes to borrowers and collateral;
- Monitor, update, and administer interest rate caps, letters of credit, UCC's, reserves and escrows;
- Research and resolve lender and / or borrowers' questions and issues;
- Maintain strict compliance with the company's policies and procedures.
- Continuously seek to improve existing processes;
- Meet all training requirements promptly;
- Contribute to the development and ongoing adherence to Performance Indicators;
- Participate in servicing projects as needed; and
- Other reasonable tasks and services in connection with your position
Qualifications
Experience in mortgage servicing, preferably in a cross-functional team environment with knowledge in loan boarding, billing, collections, cash management, maturing loans and loan payoffs;Proficiency in loan documents and document management;Knowledge of letters of credit, reserves, UCC's and liens;Problem-solving skills in a fast-paced environment;Strong verbal and written communications skills;Accuracy oriented with a sense of urgency and strong focus on customer service;Strong interpersonal skills and organizational awareness;BBA in Finance, Real Estate or Accounting desirable, MBA a plus;3 years of loan servicing experience, including at least 2 years commercial real estate loan servicing for multiple capital sources / investors, particularly Balance Sheet or Bridge lending structures;Working knowledge of commercial real estate finance including an understanding of multiple types of loans, property types and real estate lenders;MBA CCMS Level I and / or II certification a plus;Working knowledge of Enterprise! or similar large scale servicing system; andMedium to advanced MS Office skills
