Child and Family Agency is a non-profit agency dedicated to providing compassionate care for children, adolescents, and their families.
A 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, Child and Family Agency of Southeastern CT (CFA) was founded in 1972 and we have been dedicated to providing compassionate care to our service area ever since.
CFA is currently seeking dedicated, passionate, and energetic individuals to work in our Early Childhood Development Centers located in Groton and New London, CT. We currently have openings for : Teacher Assistants, Infant and Toddler Teachers, as well as Substitute Teacher Assistants.
You will support and become a part of our remarkable childcare staff who provide a safe and positive learning environment to foster personal and educational growth for the children in our care . This is a great opportunity to work with a highly skilled teaching team and support the development of young minds in a fun learning environment!
Duties
- Coordinate and implement educational curriculum by developing classroom activities based on developmentally appropriate practices and early learning standards.
- Lead by example; encourage teaching team success through modeling and coaching.
- Plan individual and group age-appropriate activities to actively engage children and encourage social, cognitive and emotional growth.
- Maintain frequent communications with other staff and parents as necessary.
- Ensure all center policies and state regulations are met.
- Ensure a healthy classroom environment – including maintaining appropriate hygiene and cleanliness standards and safety and security of children.
- Understand children’s cognitive, social, emotional and physical development in order to ensure a safe and stimulating classroom environment where children are actively engaged and encouraged to succeed.
Requirements
Degree in Early Childhood Education or closely related field or a Child Development Associate Certificate.Minimum of 2 years of professional child care experience.High energy.Strong oral and written communication skills and basic computer skills.Ability to work well with others (staff, children, and parents) and to foster a team environment.A strong understanding of child development.Excellent leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills.Infant / child CPR and First Aid certification.Must clear full background check and must pass health screening.Benefits
