Controls Engineer

This position will work onsite from the Murfreesboro TN location.

The Controls Engineer works within engineering groups to support the implementation of the control strategy for advanced vehicle control systems. Controls work encompasses advanced control strategy development and verification for engine hybrid and electric vehicles for components (electronic control modules motors drives engines generators energy storage cells sensors etc.) and for autonomous vehicle systems advanced suspensions systems material handling systems and other auxiliary systems for on-road and off-road applications.

YOUR IMPACT :

Under close supervision perform basic engineering calculations investigations and tasks.

Deliver results according to Oshkosh and general industry engineering standards and processes.

Support Senior Engineers in the preparation of basic plans designs computation methods and / or reporting.

Under close supervision work on projects of limited complexity in a support role.

Work in collaboration with software engineering and other internal engineering groups or business support disciplines as well as external component suppliers.

Support advanced vehicle system controls research development verification and validation testing and production implementation.

Support developing control strategies in a virtual simulation environment using modeling tools (such as ADAMS Matlab / Simulink / State flow AMEsim etc.) or hardware-in-the-loop simulators.

Support internal project teams on advanced control development efforts and on component development efforts.

Other duties as assigned.

Regular attendance is required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS :

Accredited Bachelors degree in mechanical / electrical Engineering or related field with Internship or Co-op experience with either controls or software development focus.

STANDOUT QUALIFICATIONS :

Bachelors degree in electrical or mechanical Engineering required a major in control focus is a plus.

Knowledge of Matlab / Simulink / Stateflow.

Course project knowledge of control systems sensors and actuators.

Automotive or heavy duty on or off-road vehicle digital data bus including Ethernet or Controller Area Network (CAN) experiences a plus.

Embedded software / C or C# / Python programming experience a plus.

Proficient troubleshooting on Wabco John Deere and Allison.

Pay Range :

$68600.00 - $109200.00

The above pay range reflects the minimum and maximum target pay for the position across all U.S. locations.
