Position Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented, experienced Behavioral Health Billing Specialist to join our administrative team in Cordova, TN . The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years of medical billing experience , with behavioral health billing experience strongly preferred . This is an in-person, full-time role that plays a vital part in ensuring accurate and timely reimbursement for services provided by our clinicians.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and submit insurance claims for behavioral health and psychiatric services (both HCFA 1500 and UB-04 when applicable)
• Verify patient eligibility and insurance benefits for behavioral health services
• Monitor aging reports and follow up on unpaid or denied claims
• Correct and resubmit denied or rejected claims promptly
• Post insurance and patient payments accurately into the practice management system
• Work with patients on billing inquiries, outstanding balances, and payment plans
• Coordinate with providers and front desk staff to ensure documentation accuracy
• Maintain compliance with HIPAA, payer policies, and relevant state / federal regulations
• Generate financial and productivity reports as needed
• Assist in credentialing and payer enrollment processes (if needed)
• Other duties as assigned
