Physical and work environment requirements include the ability to regularly lift 50 pounds and the ability to lift up to 100 pounds with assistance. You must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with the possibility of extended hours. Exposure to chemicals, identification of safety hazards, and hazard communication are required. Walking and standing for long periods of time, driving, sitting, and climbing are also necessary. Ability to climb ladders and work overhead at varying heights, work in tight spaces, repetitive pushing/pulling/lifting/carrying objects, and working in challenging environments with varying temperatures are also required. Ability to perform emergency services on a 24-hour scheduled on-call rotational basis is needed.
Pay rate depends on the level of experience. It takes a minimum of five years to "top out." Example pay rates are: no experience, $18; some experience, $19-$21; with IICRC WRT certification or crew chief, $22-$25; crew chief with a minimum of five years employment and contingent on all In House and external certifications, $25+.
Job description: The technician performs production processes to fulfill the service needs of individual restoration projects and maintains the professional appearance of SERVPRO equipment as well as an assigned service vehicle. By providing quality, consistent, efficient work, the technician represents the best in the cleanup and restoration industry. You will primarily be performing mitigation in someone's home or business. This may be in the form of initial emergency services or more extensive projects. This may require that you perform light to heavy demolition of building materials. You will also handle professional cleaning products and equipment.
Primary responsibilities include: 1) inventory and load the work vehicle with equipment, products, and supplies needed for each project; maintain a clean and organized vehicle and clean equipment appearance; 2) prepare rooms/areas for work activities; set up staging area and equipment for each project; 3) perform production processes as directed; 4) adhere to safety and risk management guidelines at all times; 5) communicate with the crew chief and other technicians to maintain efficient production processes; 6) perform end-of-day/end-of-job cleanup and breakdown; leave the jobsite with a clean and orderly appearance.
Necessary experience and skill set includes: strong work ethic, strong oral communication skills, experience in cleaning, restoration, or construction preferred. Formal education/training includes: high school diploma/GED, IICRC certifications preferred.
