About the Role

Ledgent Finance & Accounting is seeking an experienced Payroll Specialist for a temp-to-hire, onsite-only opportunity with one of our Sacramento-based clients. This role is perfect for someone with strong payroll processing experience, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to manage high-volume or complex payroll environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Process full-cycle payroll for weekly, bi-weekly, or semi-monthly schedules
• Review, validate, and audit timesheets and electronic timekeeping entries
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local (CA) payroll regulations
• Process new hires, terminations, wage changes, deductions, and PTO
• Administer garnishments and benefits-related payroll deductions
• Reconcile payroll reports and assist with month-end and year-end processing
• Partner with HR, Accounting, and management teams
• Respond to employee payroll inquiries professionally and promptly
• Maintain organized payroll records for Sacramento operations
