Best Buddies International is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to establishing a global volunteer movement that creates opportunities for one-to-one friendships, integrated employment, leadership development, inclusive living, and family support for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD).
Best Buddies is the largest organization dedicated to ending the social, physical and economic isolation of the 200 million people worldwide with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). Our programs empower people with IDD to form meaningful friendships with their peers, secure jobs, improve communication and advocacy skills, and live independently, while also offering support for their families.
Position Overview: The Intern, Development and Programs will assist with the planning stages of our annual fundraising events. This position would be great for someone interested in business development, non-profit management, or event planning (or similar fields). This role will support our Spring Friendship Walk with reaching out to local businesses for auction items, create posts and calendar for social media, event collateral updates, research and assist with booking various vendors, assist with Friendship Walk and supporting events logistics, and various administrative tasks. The intern is expected to work 1 day a week in the office leading up to the Friendship Walk and work the day of the Friendship Walk (see regional dates).
