Physical Therapist

Position Summary

The Physical Therapist uses professional skills to evaluate, treat, and educate patients with dysfunctions of musculoskeletal, cardio-pulmonary, and neurological systems. Acts as an integral part of the Rehab team, providing departmental support for continual improvement and excellent patient outcomes while demonstrating the Mission, Vision, and Values of ARHS. The Physical Therapist uses critical thinking, problem-solving skills, and communicates effectively verbally and in writing to provide exceptional customer service.

The physical therapist integrates scientific knowledge and technical skills with effective patient interaction to provide quality patient care and useful diagnostic information. The physical therapist (PT) provides direct and indirect patient care services that meet the needs of each patient. The PT's decisions and actions with patients and families are determined in an ethical manner practicing compassion and respect for the inherent dignity, worth and unique attributes of each person. Effectively communicates with patients / families, visitors, colleagues, physicians, leadership, and volunteers. All areas of practice and care delivery are provided to achieve and maintain top decile results and outcomes for patient experience, quality, and patient safety. The PT follows and adheres to ARHS policies and procedures; regulatory requirements and standards of behavior. The PT practices within the practice and scope of their license.

The PT demonstrates the ARHS Mission, Vision, and Values in action, and, approaches work in a way that reflects a bias for action, efficiency, and personal accountability. The PT demonstrates professional conduct, effective communication, and effective completion of tasks. Effectively and professionally manages working relationships with coworkers, physicians, and all ARHS team members, in a way that promotes a healthy work environment. Responds quickly and accurately to emergencies in the work environment and / or to changes in patient condition. Performs duties under general supervision. Always assists coworkers, patients, families, and visitors regardless of the patient assignment, so long as the assistance is in-line with their scope of practice and license.

Position Qualifications

Minimum Education

• Minimum of Bachelor of Science Degree from University with an APTA accredited curriculum in Physical Therapy
