Job Title : Lead DevOps Engineer
Type : Contract
Location : LATAM Nearshore
Role Overview
The Lead DevOps Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, and executing cloud-based build, deployment, and operational processes in a production environment. This role combines hands?on technical execution with leadership responsibilities, supporting and mentoring a small DevOps team while collaborating closely with engineering, security, and operations stakeholders.
The Lead DevOps Engineer will help define and maintain scalable, repeatable release processes while ensuring reliability, security, and compliance across platforms.
Key Responsibilities
DevOps & Cloud Engineering
- Lead the implementation of cloud-based build management, deployment, and release processes.
- Design and execute CI / CD pipelines to support continuous integration and delivery.
- Develop and maintain infrastructure automation using Infrastructure as Code and configuration management tools.
- Implement containerization and orchestration strategies for scalable deployments.
- Establish processes for ongoing platform maintenance, monitoring, and security patching.
- Build and maintain tools for system monitoring, alerting, and operational visibility.
Leadership & Collaboration
Lead and mentor junior DevOps engineers, promoting best practices for release management and automation.Perform code reviews to ensure quality, consistency, and adherence to standards.Collaborate with application development, infrastructure, and security teams to ensure seamless deployments.Ensure documentation and operational procedures are maintained and followed.Partner with internal and external teams to enforce DevOps and security standards across the organization.Governance & Compliance
Ensure operational processes align with internal policies, audit requirements, security standards, and regulatory obligations.Support secure, compliant delivery of applications and infrastructure across environments.Required Skills and Experience
Active AWS DevOps certification.Bachelors degree in a related discipline.5+ years of experience supporting AWS infrastructure and enterprise-scale applications.5+ years of experience implementing CI / CD pipelines and DevOps best practices.Strong experience with AWS services including EKS, VPC, EC2, ECS, ELB / ALB, and Route53.Experience leading or mentoring DevOps teams.Hands?on experience with CI / CD tools such as GitHub Actions and Jenkins.Experience architecting highly available and scalable cloud environments (AWS and / or OCI).Proficiency with Infrastructure as Code and configuration tools such as Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, ArgoCD, Helm, and Kustomize.Strong Linux shell skills and experience with scripting languages such as Python, Groovy, or Perl.Experience with monitoring and alerting platforms such as Datadog, Site24x7, or PagerDuty.Working knowledge of relational and non-relational databases including PostgreSQL, MySQL, Redis, and Oracle.Preferred Skills
Experience supporting multi-environment release strategies.Exposure to security-focused DevOps or DevSecOps practices.Experience supporting global or distributed engineering teams.Equal Employment Opportunity Statement
