Position Summary
The Senior Staff Accountant is responsible for performing advanced accounting functions, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial data, and supporting month-end and year-end close processes. This role serves as a key contributor to financial reporting, analysis, and compliance. The Senior Staff Accountant will also assist with process improvements, mentor junior staff, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to support organizational goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, review, and post complex journal entries and account reconciliations.
- Lead month-end and year-end closing activities to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
- Analyze financial statements and variances, providing insights and recommendations to management.
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling.
- Maintain and reconcile fixed asset schedules and depreciation.
- Review and support accounts payable and accounts receivable activities as needed.
- Prepare audit schedules and serve as a main point of contact during internal and external audits.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and company policies.
- Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy.
- Provide guidance, support, and training to Staff Accountants or other team members.
- Assist with special projects, system implementations, and financial initiatives as assigned.
- Other responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or CPA-track preferred.3–5 years of progressive accounting experience.Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards.Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting systems (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, QuickBooks, or similar).Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities.Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet strict deadlines.Strong written and verbal communication skills.Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.Competencies
