Humanities Teacher - Chesterton Academy of Albuquerque

Chesterton Academy of Albuquerque, a joyfully Catholic, classical high school, is seeking a full-time (or part time) Humanities Teacher to join our faculty. As part of the Chesterton Schools Network, we are committed to forming students in faith, reason, and virtue through a rigorous, integrated curriculum rooted in the Great Books, the Catholic intellectual tradition, and a Christ-centered community. Our students are challenged to think deeply, articulate their beliefs with clarity, and grow in holiness as they prepare to serve the world with truth and charity.

Subjects & Qualifications :

We are looking for candidates proficient in any of the following fields :

  • Literature - Specifically The Iliad, the Odyssey and the Aeneid
  • Ancient History - Specifically the ancient world, Egypt, Mesopotamia, Babylon, Persia, Greece and Rome
  • Euclidian Geometry - Specifically Euclid's Elements Book 1. (Optional, but a plus!)
  • Familiarity with the Institute of Excellence in Writing (IEW) program is highly valued.

Ideal Candidate :

  • Has a strong commitment to the Catholic Faith and is willing to take an oath of fidelity to the Magisterium.
  • Is classically trained and familiar with the liberal arts tradition.
  • Has classroom teaching experience (preferred but not required).
  • Holds at least a Bachelor's degree in a related field.
