Job Description

This position is for a Machine Mechanic within custom machine building environment.

The role involves evaluating machines, performing breakdowns and tear downs, determining root causes, problem-solving, and repairing equipment.

Responsibilities

Conduct mechanical troubleshooting and repair of used packaging machines to ensure productive operation.

Utilize hand tools such as wrenches, screwdrivers, pliers, and power tools including power drills and impacts.

Read and interpret tape measures as necessary.

Participate in fabrication and production activities.

Lift and move items weighing up to 50 pounds.

Essential Skills

At least 2 years of experience as a maintenance mechanic, machine builder, or custom automotive mechanic / fabricator.

Ability to work from verbal instructions and understand blueprints.

Proficiency in using hand and power tools.

Strong mechanical troubleshooting and repair skills.

Experience in blueprint reading, welding, machine assembly, and electrical assembly.

Knowledge in preventive maintenance, pneumatics, and wiring installation.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Carol Stream, IL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $35.00 / hr.
