Pay Rate: Min $40.13 Mid $50.16Position Summary

Responsible for leading and organizing daily lab operations and assisting the Cardiologist on all procedures in the Electrophysiology Lab, including: device implants and arrhythmia ablations as needed. Serves the needs of the team and patients by overseeing the development, integration, and evaluation of the effectiveness of safety, patient, and standard work protocols and their effects on patient care and outcomes. Delivers direct/indirect team and patient care through data collection, assessment, and outcomes; implementation and prioritization of team and patient's needs. Demonstrates sound judgment and critical thinking to assure the delivery of safe, quality, age-specific care; demonstrates department-specific competencies. Document accurately and in a timely manner. Effectively interacts with the team, patients, families and physicians while maintaining standards of the cath and electrophysiology laboratory and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.

Standard Work: Team Lead EP/Cath Lab Tech Specialist

• Assures staff demonstrates accurate documentation of patient information according to documentation standards in PEARL; including patient and family education, nursing interventions, medications, treatments, and patient's response to care.
• Communicates effectively with the physician, members of the multidisciplinary team, patient and family members.
• Maintains patient comfort, confidentiality and privacy; adheres to HIPAA standards.
• Organizes job functions and work assignments to effectively complete work within established time frames, including delegating appropriately and providing direction to other team members.
• Sets up and operates specialized EP equipment, including data recording systems, programmable stimulators, mapping systems, and various generators and other equipment involved in EP procedures.
• Performs duties of scrub assistance for cardiologist and Electrophysiologists during catheter ablation and device implant procedure.
• Demonstrates knowledge of all equipment and systems/technology necessary to complete duties on all EP cases including: operating specialized EP equipment, including data recording systems, programmable stimulators, mapping systems, and various generators and other equipment involved in EP procedures.
• Has knowledge of ICD and pacemaker interrogation before and after EP procedure.
• Always maintains a professional demeanor and dress.
• Administers medications accurately; observes and documents patient response.

• Competency in Advanced ECG interpretation, experience with EP mapping and ablation systems.

Qualifications & Experience

Essential:

• Associate Degree

Essential:

• Graduate of Accredited Cardiovascular Interventional Technical (CVT) or Accredited Electrophysiology Program, or in leu of CVT degree a graduate of accredited Radiology Technologist or Respiratory Therapist program is acceptable.

Other information:

Experience Essential:

- Two-years experience as a Cath Lab or EP lab Tech or

- two-years experience as radiology technologist or

- two-years experience as respiratory therapist

Certification Essential:

- Registered Cardiovascular Interventional Specialist (RCIS) or

- Registered Cardiovascular Electrophysiology Specialist (RCES). In leu of CVT degree with RCIS or RCES, the following certifications are acceptable:

- R.T.(R)(ARRT) or

- R.T.(CI)(ARRT) or

- R.T.(VI)(ARRT)

- RRT
Certification Preferred:

- Certification in Pacing and Electrophysiology with the North American Society of Pacing and Electrophysiology (NASPE).

Licenses Essential:

- In leu of CVT degree with RCIS or RCES certification, the following are acceptable:

Certified Radiologic Technologist from Florida Department of Health or

Registered Respiratory Therapist from Florida Department of Health
