Job Description :
The Security Engineer deploys and maintains electronic access control, video surveillance systems and architecture across the platform supporting at all venues and facilities. The Engineer works directly with each venue, Corporate Security, Network Operations, and Infrastructure engineering to install, monitor, and troubleshoot access control and video surveillance security applications and devices into the enterprise. This candidate will report to and support the Security Systems Architect and works closely with access control and video surveillance system integrators and vendors. The role requires this candidate to have a high-level of subject-matter expertise, foster a professional environment that encourages participation and idea sharing within a framework of mutual respect, camaraderie, cooperation and teamwork.
Day to Day :
- Deploy access control, video surveillance applications and architecture into and all facilities and venues.
- Oversee the health, performance, and availability of video surveillance and access control platforms.
- Configure and maintain cameras and access control panels.
- Implement system upgrades and patches in conjunction with the Security Systems Architect, Infrastructure Engineers, and the Security Operations Centers while minimizing operational impact.
- Collaborate with Venue Security VPs and the Security Operations Center Managers to support operational requirements.
- Respond to and resolve critical system issues affecting security operations.
- Perform root cause analysis on system failures and implement preventive measures.
- Execute network integration in support of access control systems, i.e., magnetometer, Xtract, CCURE, Garrett, Client, etc... and video surveillance systems, i.e., Genetec, eConnect, etc... projects in coordination with Network Operations.
- Communicate with customers and IT staff on outstanding requests to ensure timely completion of tickets and leverage all required support groups to resolve support issues.
- Provide L2 support (incident resolution, root cause analysis, able to model and replicate identified issues, executing associated fix action).
Qualifications :
5 years' experience integrating and maintaining physical security systems.2 years' experience supporting large events and venues.Bachelor's DegreeKnowledge of relevant security systems : CCURE, Genetec. Certifications are a plus but not required.Exceptional troubleshooting skills.Proven experience supporting projects focused on designing and / or implementing new or significantly enhanced IT services.Hands on technical experience with low voltage, networking and server infrastructure.Highly organized and detail oriented with exceptional customer service skills.Able to manage time effectively, independently, and produce work on schedule. Need to prioritize and manage across multiple, often time-sensitive initiatives.Strong verbal and written communication skills, with an ability to create business correspondences.Strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to communicate clearly with customers, staff, senior management, vendors and contractors.Demonstrate ability to work well with all business units, vendors and business clients.Proven ability to perform well under stress when confronted with emergency, critical or unusual customer situations and issues.Proven ability to conceptualize and execute deadline-driven projects, with strong bias for action and ability to prioritize multiple, competing priorities.Adept at applying process management and continuous improvement tools and techniques.
