POSITION SUMMARY
The Financial Analyst is a key member of the Alterra Mountain Company FP&A department. The position is primarily responsible to oversee financial processes in support of the Denver based corporate office and may assist with ongoing needs across resorts. This position coordinates the annual budget, forecasting, monthly close / reporting, and is responsible for ad-hoc analysis. The ideal candidate is motivated, self directed, comfortable presenting and working with employees at all levels of the company in a fast-paced work environment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
General Responsibilities
G&A Financial Support and Oversight :
Prepare, Review and Distribute monthly P&L reportsCollaborate with budget owners on review and analysis of resultsPrepare monthly consolidated reporting package for senior leadership team, including commentary and analysisParticipate on monthly management financial review meetingsParticipate in monthly financial soft close reviewCollaborate with accounting on adjusting entries, reclasses and general accounting processFacilitate annual planning and budgeting processDevelop and improve financial reporting tools and processesPrepare monthly forecast and financial trend analysisProvide analytical support for annual plan reviews, target setting and other initiativesFinancial support for corporate insurance, sponsorship, and other corporate programsFacilitate month forecasting processAd hoc Financial Analysis :
Provide financial analysis for budget owners and senior leaders to support corporate initiatives and business development effortsCollaborate with ongoing Merger and Acquisition activityAd hoc financial modeling and data requests as requiredOther duties as assignedREQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
3+ years of experience in finance or accounting in a mid to large company is preferredPreferred : CPA, CFA or MBA with a focus on financeExperience working within a large, complex organization is strongly preferredStrong Excel financial modeling skills, PowerPoint and Word skillsStrong analytical skills and the ability to build complex Excel modelsUnderstanding in summary and executive level reportingSolid understanding of accounting principles and conceptsKnowledge of finance - financial modeling, DCF, sensitivity analysis, budgetingSelf-motivated and results drivenAssertive and decisive, comfort working with all levels in the organizationWilling to commit time required to complete tasks expedientlyDynamic, pro-active, resourceful, and practicalWorks well as part of a larger team.Ability to work with and relate to employees at all levels of the organizationAttention to detailProven ability to handle multiple tasks in a time sensitive mannerEffective written and verbal communication skillsProfessional / lived experience working in a culturally competent manner with a broad range of people.EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
Undergraduate degree; ideally a degree in finance, business administration, or equivalent.The base salary range below represents the low and high end of the salary range for this position. Actual salaries will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to experience, education, training, location, merit system, quantity or quality of production, responsibilities, and regular and / or necessary travel. The range listed is just one component of the Company's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term and long-term incentives and many region-specific benefits.
Denver area base salary range : $57,000 - $93,000 per year
