Forklift Operator

Venture Metals + is a fast-growing, metal recycling company looking to grow our operations team with Forklift Operator at our Joliet, IL location.

What will the Forklift Operator do?

• Load and unload scrap metal materials, bales, bins, boxes, crates, etc. onto and from customer trailers, truck beds, bins and other cargo as needed.
• Ensure a clean and orderly workplace; clean and prepare sites by removing debris and possible hazards.
• Adhere to, evaluate and maintain proper service logs and and maintenance requirements.
• Transfer all necessary materials from one place to another; pick up falling material during transfer.
• Perform other duties as assigned in your area, such as sweep, clean, sort, etc..

Requirements:

• OSHA/Safety certification preferred but not required.
• Ability to pass a background check and drug screening.
• Must be able to work in the US.
• Scrap Metal/ waste recycle experience: preferred but not required.
• Other assigned duties as needed.

Working Conditions:

• Outdoor position (under roofing) in all-weather environments: rain, snow, hot, cold.
• Could be exposed to dust, fumes, high noise levels.
• PPE will be required for all employees. PPE includes, safety glasses, hard hat, high visibility vest, ear plugs, gloves, steel/composite toed shoes or boots.
