Job Description
Blacklock Group is seeking an Investment Banking Associate to join a high-performing, boutique investment bank. This is a Generalist M&A role, and no specific sector background is required.
Key Responsibilities :
- Prepare and maintain marketing materials, pitch books, and valuation analyses
- Develop Confidential Information Memoranda (CIMs) and investor presentations
- Build and review financial models, including traditional valuation techniques and industry-specific methodologies
- Organize, analyse, and manage due diligence materials with a high degree of accuracy and efficiency
- Create ad hoc transaction-related documents and process materials
- Support client relationships and execute transactions in a fast-paced, time-sensitive environment
Experience, Skills & Requirements :
2–4 years of experience in investment banking, M&A advisory, or a closely related transaction-focused roleStrong execution experience across sell-side and / or buy-side M&A transactionsAdvanced financial modelling and valuation skills, including DCF, comparable companies, precedent transactions, and LBO analysisAbility to independently manage workstreams, review analyst output, and ensure accuracy across all transaction materialsStrong understanding of the full M&A transaction lifecycle, including marketing, due diligence, negotiation, and closing processesExcellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with clients, buyers, and senior advisorsHighly organised, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple live transactions in a fast-paced environmentAdvanced proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint, with experience producing high-quality pitch decks, CIMs, management presentations, and board-level materialsStrong grasp of corporate finance concepts, including financial statement analysis, capital structure, working capital, and transaction structuringProven ability to work independently while contributing effectively within small deal teamsBachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field; MBA, CFA, or CPA is advantageous but not required
