Diesel Mechanic

Atlantic Coast Charters is seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong mechanical background with extensive experience in diagnosing and repairing diesel engines. The Diesel Mechanic will be responsible for maintaining and repairing a Prevost/MCI and VanHool Motorcoaches, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.

Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostics and repairs on diesel engines.
• Conduct routine maintenance on vehicles.
• Repair and maintain hydraulic systems, air brakes, suspensions, transmissions, and HVAC systems.
• Utilize hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment for various repair tasks.
• Interpret schematics to troubleshoot electrical issues and perform necessary repairs.
• Provide exceptional customer service by communicating effectively with clients regarding repairs and maintenance needs.
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment while adhering to safety protocols.

Experience

• Proven experience as a Diesel Mechanic or in a similar role with a focus on automotive repair.
• Experience working with motorcoaches is preferred.
• Strong mechanical knowledge of diesel engine repair, brake repair, shocks & struts, alignment, tire service, and assembly.
• Ability to perform heavy lifting as required during repairs.
• Electrical experience is beneficial for troubleshooting complex systems.
