The DSP (caregiver) is responsible for providing direct support, hands-on instruction, assistance, and positive direction to children, teens, and young adults (ages 12-21) with intellectual / developmental disabilities (I / DD) in a manner that ensures their health, safety, successful achievement of service objectives, and personal goals.

- Enrich and support the lives of our residents while maintaining a safe and healthy environment
- Provide companionship and personalized care while encouraging independence and self-care.
- Assist with activities of daily living, including dressing, bathing, grooming, toileting, and eating.
- Prepare meals and snacks.
- Perform light housekeeping and laundry duties.
- Provide mobility and transfer assistance, which may include using mechanical lift devices.
- Implement positive behavior supports and de-escalate challenging behaviors when needed.
- Other duties as assigned

What Makes You a Great Fit :6 months of professional work experience supporting vulnerable populations required (ex. caregiver, nanny, paraeducator, direct support professional, etc.)6 months of volunteer experience may be used in leui of professional work experience.Must be 21 years of age or older per Washington state licensing requirementsHigh School Diploma or GEDHave a passion to help youth through person-centered careDependable, adaptable, and flexibleMust be able to provide referencesAble to attend two weeks of PAID in-house orientation and trainingGood communication is key in this role. You’ll rely on your reading, writing, and communication skills to document care, follow support plans, and collaborate with both internal and external team members.Additional Information
